Community Social Responsibility at Primary Health Care Centre Obantoko

Livewell Family Empowerment Foundation recently extended its commitment to community well-being through a vital Community Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative at the Primary Health Center Obantoko, Abeokuta, Ogun State. Focusing on the critical importance of maternal and child health, our team collaborated with healthcare workers to educate pregnant and nursing mothers on essential hygiene practices and distribute much-needed hygiene products.

Promoting Maternal and Child Health Through Hygiene Education:

Recognizing the profound impact of hygiene on the health and well-being of both mothers and their young children, Livewell Centre organized this outreach program in conjunction with the dedicated healthcare professionals at Obantoko Primary Healthcare Centre, located in Alongi, Odeda Local Government, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria.

The initiative involved an engaging and informative training session designed to empower pregnant and nursing mothers with practical knowledge on key hygiene practices. Topics covered included:

  • Proper handwashing techniques to prevent the spread of infections.
  • The importance of personal hygiene during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
  • Maintaining a clean and healthy environment for newborns and infants.
  • Safe disposal of waste and sanitation practices.

Distribution of Essential Hygiene Products:

To further support the mothers in adopting these crucial hygiene practices, Livewell Centre distributed essential hygiene products. 

The distribution of these products aimed to provide immediate and tangible support, enabling the mothers to implement the hygiene practices they learned during the training.

Impact and Community Engagement:

The event was met with enthusiastic participation and positive feedback from the pregnant and nursing mothers, as well as the healthcare workers at the Obantoko Primary Health Center. The mothers actively engaged in the training sessions, asking insightful questions and sharing their experiences. The healthcare workers expressed their appreciation for Livewell’s support in reinforcing vital health messages within the community.
